Member Kay Mowery's works entitled, ""Ancient, Old.." and "Path to M. Claude's Gardens" have
been juried into the New England Chapter of the CPSA's show, "The Magic of Colored Pencil".
The show is at the Spring Bull Stuid and Gallery, 55 Bellevue Avenue, Newport, Rhode Island
and will be available for viewing from June 1 - 30, 2013.

DC114 has swept the awards at the Roxboro Artfest.

Member Lloyd Childers won Best in Show for her piece titled "Bahama Mama".
Judges Comments: "I get a real sense of energy from this woman. I start to wonder who she is and what she is waiting for. This artist knows the power of an angle how to draw the viewer's eye from the blue bag to the direction she is looking."

Member Liz Guzynski won First Place, Hard Surface Category, for her work titled "What the Cluck".
Judges Comments: "Makes me look and look again and again. I cannot look away! Love the intensity."

Member Kate Lagaly won First Place, Paper Surface Category for her piece titled "Stories".
Judges Comments: "Beautiful, engaging piece."

Member Jackie Balog won Second Place, Paper Surface Category for her work titled "Beauty Nap".
Judges Comments: "Extremely well done. Love the pig."

Members Liz Guzynski, Suzan Holmes, Linda Koffenberger, Kate Lagaly, Nina Macdonald, and Donna Slade have been juried into the CPSA 21st International Exhibition. View their works here.

Member Kate Lagaly's piece "Prehistoric Splendor" has been juried into the CPSA's "Explore This 9" online show. Her work can be seen online from January 31, 2013 - January 31, 2014.

Kate had also been juried into the Southern Watercolor 36th Annual Juried Exhibit ("Really..." watercolor and gouache), and the Watercolor Society of NC 67th Juried Exhibition and won the Jack Richeson Award ("Reclining" watercolor on Yupo).

A one-"Kate" show will be at the Roxboro Kirby Gallery for the month of February 2013. The Kirby Gallery is at 214 North Main St., Roxboro, NC 27573

Kate will be show her work in a one woman show at The Caswell County Civic Center, 536 Main Street East in Yanceyville, NC 27379. The opening reception is Sunday, March 24, 2013, 2-4. It comes down April 24th.

Congratulations to Nina MacDonald and Kate Lagaly. Both have art juried into the Cary Fine Arts League Annual Juried Show for 2013.

Congratulations to Kay Mowery on his one-person show! Kay's work was exhibitied at the Herb Young Center on the Cary Town Campus from November 20, 2012 to January 7, 2013. An artists reception was held December 1, 2012 from 2 pm - 4 pm at the exhibition site.

Congratulations to NC State Fair winners! Kate Lagaly won first place in Professional Arts and Photography and Kay Mowery won first place in Amateur Arts and Photography. View their winning art here.

Liz Guzynsk won the CIPPY award for Best in Show, CPSA 20th International Exhibition! See Liz's "September Hydrangea" and other winning art at the CPSA site.

Kate Lagaly was recognized by the CPSA for having been accepted into five CPSA exhibitions.

Faith Wheeler's "On the Sofa" was award fourth place in CP Magazine's thirteenth Member Show.

Jim Saunders's western art has been highlighted in a gallery video by the Western Film Preservation Society.

Member Jim Sanders was profiled as a local artist in the "Garner-Cleveland Record".

Member artwork was displayed at the Hammond Gallery, Wilson, NC from March 20 - April 17, 2012.

Members Liz Guzynski and Kathleen McLeod have had artworks accepted into the juried art show that was held April 11 - 15, 2012 as part of the 30th annual Azalea Festival in Wilmington, NC.

DC114 Member Kate Lagaly's work is featured in a show at the Sertoma Arts Center, Raleigh, NC.
Fifty three of Kate's works are on exhibit through January 31, 2012. An artist's reception was held on January 8, from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Zebulon Town Hall
Through November 18, DC114 is showing member works depicting flora and fauna of North Carolina.

NC Aquarium Exhibition
We are pleased to annoounce that the North Carolina Aquariums at Roanoke, Pine Knoll Shores and Fort Fisher are hosting an exhibition of art from CPSA DC114 members. The show is titled: "A Walk in the Woods: North Carolina's Maritime Forests". Plants, animals and landscapes found in the maritime forests are the subjects of this show.
From April through June, 2011, the show will be at The North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island (Outer Banks area).
From July through September, 2011, the exhibition will be at The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores.
From October through December, 2011, see the show at The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.

Congratulations to member Betty Hendrix who had two colored pencil works juried into the "Sky's the Limit" Juried Art Show and Competition at the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center of Breckenridge, TX. Her works will be on exhibit from September 6 - October 7, 2011. Betty also had a pastel painting juried into the "Pastels Chicago" exhibition, which will be on view from September 15 through October 28 at the Mayslake Peabody Estate, Oakbrook, Illinois.

Art Show Announcement
We are exhibiting colored pencil works from members in a show titled "Naturally Colored Pencil" at the Nature Art Gallery, part of the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. The show will available for viewing from September 2 to October 2. All works shown are available for purchase.

Congratulations to members Liz Guzynski and Faith Wheeler, who now have Signature status. Signature status is a special honor granted to CPSA members when their work is juried into and appears three times Achieving Signature status means that the member may add the initials CPSA (for the International Exhibition) or CPX (for the Explore This! online exhibition) after his or her name.within ten years of the first acceptance to an annual CPSA exhibition.
Congratulations to member Donna Slade who has received her 10-year merit pin from the CPSA. Donna's work has been juried into the International Exhibition many times since she obtained signature status.
